Detroit Early Middle College High School (DEMC) is a historic first for our city—and a powerful next step for our district. Detroit Academy of Arts and Sciences District (DAAS) has championed a cradle-to-career vision for Detroit’s children. With DEMC, we’re turning that vision into a tangible head start: a high school experience where scholars can earn college credits, industry-recognized credentials, and real momentum toward meaningful careers.

This opportunity is about equity, access, and excellence. In partnership with higher-education and workforce leaders, DEMC will launch 9th grade and add a grade each year until 13th year, providing personalized advising, early college opportunities, and supportive wraparound services so every scholar can thrive.

Academy Management Company is proud to announce the addition of Detroit Early Middle College (DEMC) to its growing portfolio of schools. DEMC is the first standalone Early Middle College high school in Detroit, designed to expand access to college and career opportunities for Detroit students. This innovative school allows scholars to earn a high school diploma while completing college coursework and career certificationspreparing them for success in college, career, and life. As part of the Detroit Academy of Arts and Sciences (DAAS) district, DEMC strengthens the districts cots-to-career vision and continued commitment to transforming education across Detroit.
