Application Deadline

Enrollment for our inaugural 9th-grade class is now open. Spaces are limited to 100 scholars for the 2026–2027 school year, so we encourage families to apply early. We will be accpeting first-round applications through December 19th, 2025. Applications received after that date will still be reviewed on a rolling basis as space allows, so we encourage you to apply even if you miss the first-round deadline.

ALL STUDENTS

All students must complete the online enrollment application and submit all required materials listed below to Debra Wilson at [email protected] 

 

  • Original Birth Certificate
  • Shot Record
  • Most Recent Report Card
  • Previous School Behavior Report
  • Copy of Parent ID
  • PSAT Scores
  • 1 Recommendation Letter from Teacher/Educator
  • Student Essay Requirement;  In your own words, explain why you want to attend Detroit Early Middle College and how being part of an Early Middle College will help you achieve your future goals in education, career, and life. (Type your essay on a computer (no handwritten essays). Save it as a PDF file before submitting.
  • Attendnace Record/Summary 
  • Current Documentation of IEP/504 (if applicable)
  • Legal Documents showing proof of guardianship, court custody orders, etc. (if applicable)
